Pump Out Vacuums
Perhaps one of the more unique and specialist pumps on a modern hire fleet is the pump out vacuum. Basically most water pumps, sump pumps, or submersible pumps, will not take out the last few inches of water. Most submersible pumps take out water down to the last 25mm (1" approx.) while even some of the pumps on our own hire fleet even work down to 5mm (3/8" approx) of water. A vacuum cleaner on the other hand can remove all water to a virtually touch dry surface, but needs regular emptying to cope with larger volumes of water. The answer is to hire a MTH Pump Out Vac which removes all traces of water and immediately discharges the water with it's own built in water pump. This combines the best of both machines, and the pump out vac can pump away the water to the same distances and head that a submersible pump can.
Submersible Water Pumps
Submersible pumps, sump pumps, booster and centrifugal pumps, are all designed for use under water and are ideal for pumping out flood situations, sumps and bilges etc. They do not need to be primed before using and can be simply lowered into the water and switched on. When used with a level float control, they will automatically switch on or off with the rise and fall of the water.
Well Pumps
Portable pumps which are suitable for installation in wells, water deposits, collection tanks, surface and garden irrigation and clear water courses.
Engine Driven Pumps
These general-purpose water pumps offer quality performance for general clear and mucky water pumping applications. They are ideal for filling and emptying, irrigation and flood relief and pumping water into or out of ponds, pools and trenches etc. They are also useful in gardens and allotments, around a farm, and on construction sites where water transfer is required.
Clear Water Pumps
Suitable for use with clear or dirty water but cannot handle solids. These pumps are ideal for a number of long-running water transfer applications in and around the home and garden such as irrigating gardens, draining cellars/basements and powering waterfalls/fountains.
Semi Trash Pumps
Suitable for use on clear and dirty water applications that may contain small solids up to 19mm. They have fast set up and are ideal for light-duty applications, dewatering, floods etc. Semi-trash pumps have a smaller opening than a trash pump and are not designed to handle large solids or high concentrations of solids.
Trash Pumps
Designed to pump large amounts of water that contain hard and soft solids (such as mud, leaves, twigs, sand, sludge and debris) without clogging or harming the pump. Most devices are portable, heavy-duty centrifugal pumps that feature deeper impeller vanes and larger discharge openings than other pumps. They can move hundreds or even thousands of gallons per minute and are ideal for use in a variety of industrial applications, including agriculture, horticulture, construction, and flood control.
